Re'eh
E. Nussbaum said from his father not to use a cerain shochet based on his children not being on the right track. - if all kids are like that something's missing in father, & choshesh that his sensitivity to feel the chalaf is lost.
the Maggid meishorim explains what re'eh - seeing the blessing means & why the 1st passuk in re'eh starts in singular & ends L'fneichem - plural.
He says that brachah is an entity that exists, not just an occurrence & one with very good eyes can actually see it! So Moshe was telling the few individuals (in singular tense) with 'good
eyesight' to look & actually see the bracha & k'llalah that is being placed before ALL of kllal yisrael (plural tense) on har grizim & har eival.
Shechitah needs a very sensitive nail to make sure the tool that makes an animal appropriate to become one with man is smooth with no bumps to caus the animal pain in the process.
Presumably, that sensitivity is dependant on one's level of purity in bein adam LaMakom.
As R' Yisrael Salanter said, bein adam L'chaveiroh is a lot harder than bein adom LaMakom.
How much more carful must we be then to retain the sensitivity needed to be aware & avoid any sharp painful 'bumps' when bonding people into one!
Creating true ahava achva shalom & rei'us is an extremely delicate surgery & we owe tremendous hakoras hatov to those who bring people together as they skillfully make sure all is smooth.
Part of what's needed for the people themselves to bond, is a good measure of light heartedness & humor so that not every nuance should cause pain & we should not be oversensitive.

Eikev
Eikev. Baruch mikol amim...v'heisir kol choli.
obviously if so blessed then no choli?!
B.m. 107 -ayin ra 99/100 rov/kol.
Simple - you'll be blessed above all & Hashem will still make sure no ayin hora.
But drush...
darash moshe -vayar'ivecha...mann. Their complaint of hunger brought the mann. They could've been like their clothing which since they never wxpreased concern Hashem didn't have to replenish, rather it grew & refreshed..their bodies could've been higher level than mann!
We see that we can limit our level by thinking limited.
Medrash halacha brings tos ry''d in b.k. That one's ayin ra on himself can be more powerful than others upon him!
M.h. Also brings kesef mishneh (brachos 1.13) & yerushalmi baruch tihyeh mikol amim.. Answer amen to goy's brachah to you.
If so - when you are open to brachah so much that even accept from goy, then you won't make ayin ra on self!
Think big. Harchev picha..

Balak
bilam had 1 redeeming quality, his 1 blind eye -acc to the be'sht - targum says shapir chazi (see aish dus) but what quality did balak have to have a parshah in his name?
Maharil asks why satart vayar balak then switch to moav...
grach asks why not say melech right away
maharil saw what yidden did & SAW moav's fear, yiush, & comment that we're lost b/c we don't even have a king -just a 'temp'. this lack of confidence the nation had in him drove him.....
Grach says he saw before he became king what yidden did & told moav ....then they appointed him...
Mishlei 24 echezeh, ashis libim ra'isi, lakachti mussar. Meraglim got to step 3 - ra'u - but 'lo lakchu mussar'.
Balak was roeh es hanolad, as opposed to bilam. All the messages fell on deaf ears to bilam, but balak internalized & acted upon what he saw! That's a huge ma'alah.
we know the message of yimei bein hamitzarim - the three weeks, but we have to apply it loke'ach mussar.
